Talking about smart abilities

On Friday morning 13^th July 2007. It was raining day, but we were happy to meet as usual at our school. And it was the third time Mr. Tato came to our club meeting. At that time our teachers presented two materials. The first one was about ‘Anggun’ (SMA 2 Package, Classroom Activities). First of all, our teacher wrote “Anggun” on the blackboard, she made a mind map (as a week ago) quiz. She ordered us to give some words about ‘Anggun’. After that club members were divided into 5 groups. And each group had to answer the questions about ‘Anggun’. They were given + 20 minutes to answer all the questions. After that we discussed together. The second material was about ‘The Multiple Intelligence’. It was about the way we placed ourselves based on our ability. There were 8 intelligences. They were; Art Smart, Word Smart, Self Smart, People Smart, Number Smart, Nature Smart, Body Smart and Music Smart. Each student had to choose one type of the multiple intelligence and had to give a reason why s/he chooses that. And of course, one on one had to present it in front of the class (it would make students had more some self confidence). And then, they were classified into certain groups based on the same intelligence. There were 4 intelligences. They were; Art Smart, People Smart, Self Smart and Word Smart. Each group had to present something in front of the class. For Art Smart group they had to make a song with the theme ‘A new Student’, People Smart group had to make a teacher show (made a drama), Self Smart had to be a Master of Ceremony (by the way, there was just one student who choose this intelligence, so she had to be a MC for the show ), and the Word Smart had to make News Reading. After they discussed for about 30 minutes, all groups presented their results in front of the class. By the different material in learning English, we realized that learning English is enjoying, entertaining and interesting.
